COLFAX, WA. -- The former boyfriend of a woman found in critical condition on a rural Whitman County road last fall pled not guilty to charges Friday.
Richard Pasma was arraigned on Felony Hit and Run charges Friday morning in Whitman County Court. He is accused of leaving his former girlfriend, Kristen Grindley, unconscious and bleeding on Pullman-Albion Road in the middle of the night last November.
Grindley is unable to remember the events of that night, however Pasma has admitted the two had been arguing that night and he went for a drive to clear his head. A witness told investigators Pasma believed Grindley may have been in the back of his truck prior to going four-wheeling near Pullman-Albion Road that night.
Grindley was seriously injured and spent weeks in the hospital. She continues her rehabilitation at home with family members and told KREM 2 News she has not spoken to Pasma since the incident.
Pasma's jury trial is scheduled to begin on November 15. Meanwhile, he remains out of jail.
