SPOKANE -- Spokane Police say a high-speed police pursuit that started in the Downtown area has come to an end in Post Falls.
Police say they tried to pull-over a man for driving recklessly near Crestline and Sprague, but he wouldn't stop and led them onto Eastbound I-90.
Officers were able to get him to run over spike strips near the Sullivan exit and again near the Barker exit. We're told the driver kept going on rims.
They say he then exited I-90 at milepost 5 in Post Falls. That's where an officer was able to do a pursuit intervention technique maneuver nudging the car and getting it to spin, then stop.
The driver, 29-year-old John Rovik, is in custody for eluding police, DUI and two counts of unlawful imprisonment as he had two passengers in the car who asked him to stop.
The pursuit began at around 4:15 and ended just after 4:30.
