SPOKANE -- Drivers who saw a man get hit by a car in Downtown Spokane last week called 911 as they followed the accused driver leaving the scene.
Emergency calls were released Thursday from the hit and run crash at Sprague and Division that killed David Squires. There were multiple calls because more than one witness saw the crash.
Witnesses say they flashed their lights at Scott Reckord's vehicle as they chased him through Downtown Spokane. He eventually came back to the crash scene and was arrested after failing a field sobriety test.
Squires died at the scene. A memorial service will be held for him Friday evening.
