PULLMAN, WA. -- Whitman County Sheriff's deputies have new clues in the case of a Washington State University graduate found seriously injured on a rural road.

Deputies say they have questioned six people about what happened to Kristen Grindley, 23, including her boyfriend, who is a current student at WSU.

Grindley was found laying in a pool of blood on Pullman-Albion Road early Wednesday morning. She was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center, and has been unconscious since the incident. Investigators say they believe Grindley either fell from a vehicle or was struck by a vehicle on the road.

Deputies issued a search warrant for the residence where Grindley and her boyfriend were living together. A search warrant was also issued for a truck believed to have been involved in the incident, although deputies will not say who the truck belongs to.

Cell phone records are also being reviewed, and deputies are waiting for Grindley to resume consciousness to question her about what happened.

Most of Grindley's friends and relatives say they're keeping her in their thoughts and prayers.  On Thursday, her sister wrote on her Facebook wall: "We just got you a panda bear in the hospital gift shop.  I can't leave it on your bed right now but I'm taking it in with me every time I can go in and see you.  Love you so much and can't wait to hear your voice again."

Her father wrote: "Baby, laugh again soon!  We're all pulling for you.  You're a fighter.  Be strong as you've always been.  Thinking of your smiling face keeps me going."

Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers says a key piece to this case will be what Grindley remembers.  They're waiting for her condition to improve before they try to talk to her.

If you can provide any information call the Sheriff at (509) 397-6266.

Grindley is from Woodinville, Washington.
