SPOKANE-- Some stores in Spokane spent Thanksgiving preparing for Black Friday. Black Friday is the day retailers across the country try to get out of the red and into the black. It’s also one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Hastings in Spokane says that day goes by fast for the employees because of the non-stop customers. But Thanksgiving is one of the slowest days. Hastings employees say it helps them mentally prepare for the weekend ahead. Thanksgiving is also a day to get the store ready. Employees were putting up sale prices most of the day. Industry experts predict a strong Black Friday showing across the country, but nothing record-breaking because of the economy. Retailers already started Black Friday sales last week. Hastings is still planning a one-day blow out sale.
