WHITMAN COUNTY, Washington -- A woman found seriously injured on the side of a rural Palouse road Wednesday morning has been identified.

Whitman County Sheriff's officials say she is Kristen Grindley, 23, from Seattle. Grindly is a current student at Washington State University in Pullman.

Deputies say Grindley was found laying in a pool of blood around 1:40 a.m. in the middle of Pullman-Albion Road.

Investigators say it appears Grindley either fell from a vehicle or was struck by a vehicle on the road.  She is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers tells KREM.com someone knows what happened to her, and investigators are looking for tips.  If you can provide any information call the Sheriff at (509) 397-6266.
