Coeur d’Alene, ID – Robotic surgery is now available at Kootenai Health.
This Friday, September 26, Kootenai Health is hosting an open house showcasing its surgical robotics program. Everyone is invited to stop by the Kootenai Heart Center lobby between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to see the surgical robot first-hand.
Guests at the open house will have an opportunity to see the equipment, sit at the surgeon’s console and learn more about the advantages of robotic surgery. A representative from Intuitive Surgical equipment will be on-hand to answer questions and demonstrate how the equipment works.
Advantages to patients include significantly less pain, less blood loss, less scarring, shorter recovery time, and a faster return to normal daily activities. Currently, area physicians are performing prostate and urological procedures as well as certain procedures in women.
