Spokane coffee shop to transform into Luke's Diner from 'Gilmore Girls'

SPOKANE, Wash. -- A local coffee shop will get into the Gilmore Girls spirit on Wednesday morning.

Indaba Coffee, which has two locations, plans to host a “Luke’s Coffee Day,” starting at 7 a.m.

According to TownofStarsHollow.org, which appears to be a promotional website for the new Netflix revival of the sitcom, more than 200 coffee shops across the country will be giving out coffee on Oct. 5.

Spokane's Indaba Coffee has two locations, one on Howard Street and one on Broadway. They plan to give away 250 free cups of coffee, starting at 7 a.m.

Staff at Indaba’s downtown location said they were planning to decorate the shop to look like Luke’s Diner and to wear costumes to look more like the store’s fictional proprietor.
