TYLER PERRY: GETTING HIS 'OWN' DEAL WITH OPRAH

NEW YORK (AP) -- Tyler Perry is hooking up with Oprah Winfrey. And no, we don't mean in THAT way. Perry is doing a deal with Winfrey's OWN network to do scripted programing for the cable network. Perry will produce, write and direct two series for OWN -- and they will premiere next year. Perry has already scored big on TV with series like "Tyler Perry's House of Payne," which airs on TBS.
