ONE DEAD IN STAGE COLLAPSE BEFORE RADIOHEAD SHOW
TORONTO (AP) -- Radiohead say they are "shattered by the loss" of their drum technician, who was killed when the stage collapsed before their show in Toronto on Saturday. The band call Scott Johnson "a lovely man" and "a highly skilled and valued member" of their road crew. Johnson was crushed when the top portion of the stage fell around 4 p.m. The doors opened at 5 but a considerable crowd was already waiting for the sold-out show. Three others were injured. Authorities are investigating whether safety measures were followed. That may take some time because the structure is still unstable.
