INDIANA JUDGE DECLINES TO RELEASE SUGARLAND TESTIMONY

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- A judge hearing several lawsuits filed over last summer's Indiana State Fair stage collapse declined to release depositions from Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. Wednesday, Judge Theodore Sosin also told plaintiff's attorney Kenneth Allen that he shouldn't have publicized videotaped portions of Nettles' testimony last month. The lawsuits follow last summer's tragic stage collapse which killed seven people and injured nearly 60 others. Allen said he released the video in response to what he called inaccurate statements by the band's publicists. The judge said he would not allow the release of the depositions because they're covered by a gag order. He also said he will rule early next week on whether to expand the scope of that protective order and on a proposed agreement by several parties that calls for them to go to trial after April 2014. Allen is seeking an earlier trial date.
