KENNY CHESNEY INVITES "GUITARIST OF THE YEAR" TO JOIN HIS BAND
UNDATED (AP) -- Kenny Chesney says his Brothers of the Sun tour with Tim McGraw is like "one big spring break party all summer long." And he just invited Kenny Greenberg, the Academy of Country Music's 2012 "Guitarist of the Year," to the party. Chesney asked Greenberg to join his touring band. He calls Greenberg "a great friend and collaborator" and says "it's going to be amazing to have him at the party each night this summer." Greenberg, who is a Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated producer, has worked frequently with Chesney, including on his upcoming album, "Welcome To The Fishbowl," set for release on June 19th. The coast-to-coast Brothers of the Sun Tour, with Chesney and McGraw, kicks off June 2nd in Tampa, Florida.
