LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The movie "The Avengers" has done to box office records what the Hulk's foot usually does to things that get in his way: smash them. The movie not only broke the record for largest debut, it obliterated it. The film took in just over $200 million dollars. It's by far the biggest domestic haul for a film ever -- flying past the previous record of $169 million for last year's debut of the "Harry Potter" finale. If the Disney estimates of how its movie did holds up with the final numbers come out later today, "The Avengers" would be the first movie ever to haul in $200 million in a single weekend. "The Avengers" features Robert Downey Junior as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye -- and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
