JOHN MAYER GOES ON HIATUS

NEW YORK (AP) -- Once again, John Mayer has to shut up. Mayer is canceling his tour and will take an indefinite hiatus because a growth on his vocal cord that he had removed has grown back. He was on vocal rest in 2011 and has to go back to that while he receives treatment again. Mayer says something didn't feel right during rehearsal Tuesday and went to see his doctor Wednesday. That's when he found out the growth was back. Mayer's tour was supposed to begin Thursday in Oklahoma City. He will release his album, "Born and Raised," as planned on May 22. He will start writing for the next album, since that's the only thing he can do for the moment.
