Video Contest: Rules, Terms and Conditions
Silverwood Theme Park invites families to enter its 2014 Video Contest. You must read the following rules, terms and legal conditions before submitting any videos!
Silverwood Theme Park’s 2014 Video Contest (the "Contest") is open to ALL participants at least 18 years of age, except employees of Silverwood Theme Park and the immediate families of such employees. The contest is open to all participants regardless of residence or citizenship, so long as the laws of their jurisdiction allow participation.
WHAT TO ENTER:
We are looking for a short video clip of your child (Ages 3-5 and 6-8 years old) and why they want to go to Silverwood Theme Park this summer. Video clips must be no longer than 15 seconds in length.
Your video should highlight the enthusiasm of your child and their excitement to want to visit Silverwood Theme Park. Your clip must include your child and can be funny, creative, touching etc.
HOW TO ENTER:
All images must be submitted though Silverwood Theme Park’s website (www.silverwoodthemepark.com/contests/krem). Entries must complete all required fields, including name, child’s name, email, phone number and other information about your video submission.
You can select an image directly from your computer desktop, or submit images from YouTube, Facebook and Instagram for consideration in the contest. Participants can also email their entries to firstname.lastname@example.org in the event that the submission site does not work. Videos that are sent via mail will not be accepted.
ELIGIBILITY AND JUDGING:
In order to be eligible for submission, participants must qualify in one of the two groups listed below.
• Group 1 – 3 years old to 5 years old
• Group 2 – 6 years old to 8 years old
Participant entering must include their name, their child’s name, email and phone number along with their 15 second maximum entry to be qualified. All entries must be the legal guardian of the child depicted in their clip and should be able to provide evidence of age and guardianship if there are any discrepancies.
Entries may originate in any format — including, but not limited to .mov, mpeg, mp4, H.264, .wmv— so long as they are submitted through the submission website.
Submissions focus should be on the child they wish to enter, but can also include commentary from guardian or other person involved in the recording process. Also, entry may include a video of a previously recorded clip of the child they wish to enter.
Videos will be judged on creativity, enthusiasm, emotional impact and visual enjoyment. The judges are a panel of Silverwood Theme Park staff members familiar with the demographics of the park and responsible for selecting videos that can contribute to Silverwood Theme Park’s online and viral marketing.
Silverwood Theme Park shall determine winner eligibility in its sole and absolute discretion. All decisions made by the judges are final.
Online entries can be uploaded starting 12:01 pm Pacific Standard Time on June 4, 2014. Deadline for submitting entries is 11:59 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on June 18, 2014.
Finalists will be announced June 23, 2014. Public voting for the grand-prize winners will be held on KREM.com for a one-week period to begin after the finalists are announced and to end no later than June 29, 2014. Grand Prize Winners in each category will be announced June 30th, 2014.
Silverwood Theme Park reserves the right to adjust any deadline(s) as the result of causes beyond its immediate control.
One winner will be chosen from each category and invited to the park for a two day experience. The first day will include a day full of fun for the child and their guardians with cameras following them around to capture their experience at Silverwood Theme Park. The second day will include tickets for the child and their immediate family to come enjoy the park without the hassle of cameras following.
The judging panel will select approximately 5 videos to be the contest’s Finalists in each category. The general public will select the Grand Prize Winner by popular vote from a pool of Finalists determined by the judging panel. There is a limit of one vote per person per day.
The grand-prize winners will be filmed at the park and displayed on Silverwood Theme Park’s YouTube Channel, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
You will retain all rights to any video you submit -- including ownership if applicable. You only grant Silverwood Theme Park rights (as described below) to your video if you are honored by the competition as a Grand Prize Winner. Before you are formally honored by the competition, Silverwood Theme Park will contact you to confirm that you wish to grant us rights to your image as described below.
If your photograph is formally honored by the competition as a grand prize winner, you grant Silverwood Theme Park a royalty-free, nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to:
• Use the video on the Internet in support of our mission.
• Use the video in Silverwood Theme Park’s non-commercial communications.
• Provide your video to other individuals and organizations for non-commercial use, related use in news stories, newsletters, reports, slide shows, displays, web pages, and the like.
• Use, in connection with the Video Contest, your name, city, state and country of residence in promotions and other publications.
• Keep the files provided, and to archive the images on CD or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used to support our mission and be properly credited.
As conditions of this permission, Silverwood Theme Park shall credit all video submissions with the caption "© Person's Name" when the full name is available.
Silverwood Theme Park’s 2014 Video Contest is sponsored by Silverwood Theme Park. The decisions of Sponsor regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the Contest shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to the Contest. KREM-TV is administrator of the entry and voting website, and assumes no responsibility or liability in connection with the operation of the entry or voting websites or for the operation of this Contest. By participating, contestants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor. Sponsor and/or KREM reserve the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this Contest as solely determined by Sponsor. In the event the Contest is compromised by a virus, non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest. Should the Contest be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date. Sponsor will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, postage-due, misdirected or illegible entries, or for failure to receive entries or votes or other electronic communications due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or Sponsor. The authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry will be considered the entrant. An “authorized account holder” shall mean the natural person assigned to such e-mail account by the Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with such e-mail account. A potential winner may be requested to provide proof that he or she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with a winning entry. In the event of a dispute, all online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the ISP account from which they were sent. For these purposes, an ISP account holder shall mean the natural person assigned to such ISP account by the Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning ISP addresses for the domain associated with such ISP account. Any questions regarding the number of entries or votes submitted by the owner of an ISP account shall be determined by Sponsor and/or KREM in its sole discretion.
