Going to the Sasquatch Music Festival this weekend? Take along your used items for donation.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are teaming up with Goodwill and Sasquatch to collect donations at the festival, which runs from May 24-27 at The Gorge in Quincy, Wash.
"Everybody that's going out to Sasquatch this weekend.. Our friends at Goodwill will be there taking donations! Bring stuff!" Macklemore said on Facebook.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have been long-time supporters and donors of Goodwill. The video for their hit song "Thrift Shop" was partially filmed in the Seattle Goodwill Outlet.
"We're excited to continue our great relationship with Goodwill and thrilled that they could be part of Sasquatch Festival this year. It's a special day for us and we love that our friends at Goodwill will be on-site taking donations," said Macklemore & Ryan Lewis manager Zach Quillen.
Bring gently used items to Goodwill's donation truck at the festival. For more information about donation guidelines go to www.seattlegoodwill.org.
As part of the E-Cycle Washington program, Goodwill collects televisions, computer monitors, desktop computers and laptops free of charge. These items donated in good working condition will be sold in stores, and items that can't be sold will be recycled in accordance with E-Cycle Washington's guidelines, which ensure that toxic materials stay out of landfills.
Proceeds will benefit Goodwill's free job training and education programs offered at centers around the region. The classes help low-income and disadvantaged people in the community find jobs and become economically self-sufficient.
