SPOKANE VALLEY -- An officer-involved shooting in Spokane Valley injured a 27-year-old man Friday.
Spokane Police are investigating the incident that happened at 4727 E. 3rd Avenue.
Police say around 1:00 p.m., a friend was on the phone with the shooting victim, David Glidden, who told them he had a gun to his mouth. The friend called 911, and two Spokane Valley Police officers responded to the residence to investigate.
According to police, the Glidden came out of the house when officers arrived and confronted them. Officers shot him, and he was taken to the hospital and sent into surgery. The hospital could not comment on the Glidden's condition.
His neighbor, Robin Ross, says he heard five gunshots and couldn't believe his eyes. Afterwards he took pictures of the damage; police hovering over his neighbor who had just been shot multiple times and bullet holes in his own home.
Ross says the bullets came within 18 inches of where his grandson was sleeping, leading him to compare the shooting scene to a war zone.
