BOISE -- The driver of a mini-van crashed into a Boise barber shop this morning while several people were inside.  Fortunately no one was hurt in the incident.

It happened at 11:40 a.m. at the Uptown Barber Salon at 6605 W. Ustick Road.

Allan Humphries was inside the shop reading a newspaper and waiting his turn to get a haircut.  He says the barber noticed a vehicle going too fast on the snow-covered parking lot approaching the front of the shop.

"I look up and I saw the car come into the parking space, continue through the parking space up onto the sidewalk and smashed right through the wall into the shop," said Humphries.

Humphries said there was glass and wood everywhere, but luckily no one was injured.  The driver then backed up and parked his vehicle.  He appeared distraught according to Humphries, and didn't say much other than to tell the barber he would make restitution for the damages.

Humphries said the man had a son getting a haircut at the shop, had some words with the barber, got in his vehicle and left before police arrived.  The barber wanted the man to wait for police.

Our photographer was able to get surveillance video of the accident from a nearby business, Buckhorn Gun & Pawn.  The video shows the mini-van coming into the parking lot, turning into the parking space and suddenly lurching into the building.  It also shows the mini-van leaving very soon after the accident.

There was significant damage to the building.  Boise Police are investigating this incident but say no citations have been issued yet.

Humphries left the shop saying he did not get a haircut.
