Attempted Pharmacy Robbery
WANDERMERE, Wash. --- A would-be Oxycontin robber fled the Wandermere Rite-Aid Pharmacy a sore loser Monday night after she was both thwarted and thumped by an employee armed with a metal bar.
Employees at the business, located at 12315 N. Highway 395, said a woman wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with the hood up entered the business about 8:35 p.m. She handed an employee a note stating she had a gun and wanted the powerful pain medication Oxycontin.
A male employee picked up a metal bar and hit her with it. The woman fled northbound from the business and was not located. No vehicle was seen.
The employees described the suspect as a white female in her mid-20's, about five feet tall and wearing Converse-style sneakers. They added that she either had on heavy makeup or had a Middle Eastern appearance.
No one inside the business was injured. Anyone with information regarding the suspect is encouraged to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
