SPOKANE -- A dog is recovering Thursday after being shot with an arrow in North Spokane.
Kay Saxton is Lucy's owner. She says Lucy was in her large backyard Friday night with other dogs when someone shot her with a razor-tipped arrow, usually used to hunt deer.
The rusty piece embedded itself in her upper right shoulder. Everytime Lucy moved, it cut deeper into her muscle.
Saxton says the shooter must have come onto her property between Fairview and Overview Drive to shoot the one-year-old pitbull terrier mix because her fence line is several yards from the road.
Lucy needed emergency surgery. SCRAPS officials say the veterinarian told them she's lucky to be alive.
SCRAPS is asking for the public's help and is offering a $2,500 reward for information on the incident.
