Students in Okanogan pledged to make a difference in their school and community by embracing a more positive lifestyle.

One act of kindness can change a life. That's the message behind an organization called Rachel's Challenge.

Rachel Scott was the first person killed in the Columbine shootings. After hear death, her diaries revealed her vision: if one person went out of their way to show kindness, it could start a chain reaction. Her lessons of kindness, not how she died, fuel the program, which is known to increase attendance and reduce bullying.

KREM 2's Ashley Korslien spent the day in Okanogan and heard how the powerful story of kindness impacted the Okanogan students.
