LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. -- A young deer is safe after falling through the ice on Liberty Lake.
Firefighters arrived on scene around 10 a.m. Wednesday to find the young white tail about 70 to 100 yards out from the shore.
The deer was trying to stand, but appeared to be exhausted and need assistance.
Several firefighters headed out on the one to two inch thin ice to rescue the deer. They were able to reach it and tug it to shore where it sprang to its feet. It took about 15 minutes to rescue the deer.
