This sausage sandwich is incredibly tasty and really easy. Here's the recipe. Get good Italian sausage dogs. I like Johnsonville but your local butcher may have a great local sausage. Also don't be cheap on the buns. Use good buns use the cheap ones for hot dogs.
Depending on how many people you're serving cut and dice a bunch of onions. A few less green bell peppers and a red bell pepper for color. Pour some olive oil in a skillet or a home made foil griddle if using a bbq. Pile in onions, then the peppers on top. Sprinkle liberally with Italian seasoning and some salt. Let cook for about 10 minutes. The stir it all together and let is saute for another 15 to 20 minutes. I really like when the onions begin to caramelize.
Grill the sausage dogs. Put in a bun and lather your pepper and onion slaw on top. Delicious.
