The month of October has featured beautiful fall weather so far.
Normally October starts our wet season here in the Inland Northwest, but so far we've recorded only a little more than a quarter inch of rain. We normally collect over an inch of precipitation for the month.
Temperatures have been enjoyable as well this month with one day reaching into the 80s, another in the 70s and more than a few days in the 60s. Nights have been chilly but only two thus far have dropped into the 20s.
Most folks I've talked to are relieved to get a mild fall this year after a disappointing spring.
You'll remember that it seemed like we went from mostly winter weather to summer and skipped spring. In June we had a trace of snow and went from chilly temperatures at the start of the month to near 100 by its end.
Look for November to much wetter with some snowfall toward the end of the month. I'll have my winter forecast on October 30th on KREM 2 News at 6:00 p.m.
