SPOKANE-- That isn’t snow on Mount Spokane.
Competitors ran in Foam Fest, a national event that made its stop in Spokane Saturday.
The event resembles Dirty Dash, but organizers want you to end fresh and clean instead of caked with dirt. It combines mud with suds.
Participants started out getting dirty. They slowly inched their way through the mud and under wires as they crawled through their first obstacle. Then they tackled the rest of the course, which included hiking on the mountain, climbing over walls and running through various foam machines. Everyone finished by diving into a slip-n-slide and landing in a tub of soapy water-- water that ended up brown pretty early into the race.
The event is all for a good cause. Proceeds go to Shared Hope International, which raises money to stop human trafficking.
Foam Fest came our way from Seattle and next heads to Portland.
