Whitworth crowd erupts over Special Olympics half-court shot

(SPOKANE) -- While the Whitworth Pirates are having an oustanding season, it was what happened during a halftime, Special Olympics scrimmage that sent the crowd into a frenzy this past Thursday.

The Cheney Parks & Recreation Special Olympic Basketball team was invited to play in the exhibition match during halftime, a way to help with local Special Olympics fundraising.  The crowd was high energy throughout, cheering on each individual player.  As time ran out, Scott Tobin launched a half-court shot that coudn't have been more perfect -- snapping the net with a swish.

Proud mom and dad happened to be recording the game, and you can understand why they got a little excited when the shot went through.  The entire video is available here:
