Get involved!

We discovered last month that the Fairchild airmen serving overseas could use a Christmas package.  However, we needed Treats & Postage.  That’s why we created Treats 2 Troops.  It will allow us to send 250 gifts to the Fairchild folks.

FACEBOOK:  Heritage Funeral Home will give $1 for every ‘Like’ we get on the KREM 2 Facebook/Treats 2 Troops page.

Goal:  KREM 2, Country Homes Power, Heritage Funeral Home, and the Fairchild spouses groups will work together to gather treats, package, and mail 250 gifts to our Fairchild folks who are serving overseas.

Dates:  November 7th-11th Gathering Campaign

Where are the packages going: South West Asia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan

Where do we take our treats?  Country Homes Power has three lcoations for people to drop off items.

  • Division Store, 8108 N. Division, Spokane, WA 99208
  • Veradale Store,16814 E. Sprague, Spokane Valley, WA 99037
  • Valley Store, 5323 E. Sprague Ave, Spokane, WA 99212

What treats do we send: Here’s the Top 10 List:

  • Beef Jerky/Slim Jims
  • Powder Drink mix (Gatorade, Kool-Aid, Crystal Light)
  • Sunflower/Pumpkin Seeds (Original/Flavored)
  • Protein Bars/Cliff Bars, etc.
  • Pocket Games (Poker, Solitaire, etc.)
  • Hard Candy (Werthers Original, Jolly Ranchers, etc.)
  • Sanitizer/Hand wipes (small)
  • Lip Balm/Chap Stick/Carmex/Blistex
  • Batteries (AA/AAA/C/9 V)
  • Cards (Thank you/Thinking of you)

Mailing:  Fairchild Airforce Base can not use plane space to mail Christmas packages.  It’s a rule.  That said, we are sending them via the United States Postal Service.

How much does it cost to mail:  Approximately $10 each package

How are we paying for it?  Country Homes Power stepped up and agreed to pay for the packages to be mailed.  They will be paying $2,500 to mail the packages.
