SPOKANE -- We had so many generous people come by Rosauers to donate time and money to Tom's Turkey Drive.

More than 6,700 meal bags were purchased for needy families in our area.

Anyone looking to pick up a turkey dinner can do so at the Spokane Arena on Tuesday.

Tom’s Turkey Tuesday will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., or until we run out of meals (hopefully we won’t).

There are bus routes that run to the arena every 10 minutes.

People are asked to bring:

Picture ID for all adults 18 and over (driver's license, tribal ID, etc.)
·        Proof of minors/children under 18 (medical coupon, social security card)
·        Proof of current address for all adults (Avista bill, phone bill, etc.)

A holiday tradition now, KREM 2's Tom Sherry, Rosauers, Numerica Credit Union, Deaconess Medical Center, Rockwood and Valley Hospital, Franz Bakery, Clear Channel, along with 2nd Harvest and the Salvation Army are working together to provide holiday meals to area families.

Every year Chef Marcellus Kennedy creates a special recipe for your Thanksgiving leftovers. This year it's turkey wild rice. Click here to see the recipe.

We are so excited about this year's event and hope you can participate. It's as easy as visiting any area Rosauers store or clicking to donate on-line! With your help last year, Tom's Turkey Drive provided 11,000 holiday meals to local families in need! The majority of the meals are distributed through the Salvation Army and given to families here in the Inland Northwest. If there are turkeys and meals left over after Thanksgiving, they are well used during Christmas. After all holiday needs are met, the food and money goes to support 2nd Harvest throughout the year.

We would also like to thank all of the businesses who support Tom’s Turkey Drive. Look to the right at our related stories to see the businesses who participate and their generous contributions.
