SPOKANE-- The Spokane Humane Society opened a new spay and neuter clinic Tuesday.
The new clinic replaced one built ten years ago. Veterinarians who work there said the old clinic was too small and could not handle today’s demands. Ten years ago, the clinic spayed approximately 1,000 animals a year, compared to 4,600 animals now.
The new facility is named after its primary donor Dorothy May Clark, who died three years ago. Clark left more than $1 million to be divided between the Humane Society and Spokanimal.
