SANDPOINT, Idaho-- A North Idaho couple is doing their part to starving in parts of Africa.
The Kaiser family from just outside of Sandpoint Idaho has created a food product that could help save countless lives of starving children thousands of miles away.
what looks peanut butter cookie dough is actually a recipe that can help feed thousands.
The food is called Nuts For Kids and it is similar to something called Plumpy Nut. It's a paste made of peanuts, sugar, vitamins, and milk powder.
Kurt and Jan Kaiser are making it for their next trip to the republic of Congo in western Africa. There they've seen first hand the devastation of hunger.
Kaiser personal photos show the young faces of the hungry and the young faces who have lived because of nuts for kids.
the couple will bring more than Nuts For Kids on their next trip. they will also bring hand crank tools so the people of the Congo can make their own paste to feed the hungry.
