KREM 2 supports Rachel's Challenge; a campaign dedicated to increasing kindness and decreasing bullying in schools. Our "Sterling Bank Hero of the Month" is a chance for us to recognize acts of kindness from young people.

Our May hero is a lot like the young woman who inspired Rachel's Challenge; she's making it her mission for all students to feel accepted.

Karlynn King decided if bullied students were going to feel relief, she'd have to help bring it.

The Priest River Lamanna High School junior created an official school club called Bully Busters.

Now, more than 60 members strong, its message is conspicuous in the halls of the high school.

Karlynn isn't stopping at the high school. She brings her anti-bullying movement to student leaders at the junior high too.

Karlynn also publishes a Bully Busters newsletter.

The 16 year old's intense focus amazes her teachers.

The bullying problem became her priority when she read the story of a Missouri student bullied to the point of suicide. Karlynn decided to use her life to improve the lives of others.

While she knows she won't likely eliminate bullying; she's seeing less of it at school.
