BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Ten police officers and two firefighters are in line to receive Idaho's Medal of Honor for their notable acts of heroism.
Attorney General Lawrence Wasden says the medal is the state's highest form of recognition for acts of bravery and commitment to the service of others.
Police officers in line for the medal work for agencies across the state, including the Bonneville County Sheriff Department, Idaho State Police, Jerome Police Department and two from the Lewiston Police Department. An officer with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game will receive the medal for saving a traffic crash victim from drowning.
Two firefighters from the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department will be recognized for rescuing children trapped in a car.
The medals will be awarded this week in Meridian.
