SPOKANE-- The Military Order of the Purple Heart is calling on all military members who are Purple Heart recipients to attend a local day of recognition on August 5th.
The day of recognition will take place at the southwest corner of Comstock Park in Spokane at 1 p.m. Purple Heart recipients from all wars are asked to attend.
There will be free food for all Purple Heart recipients.
The national day of recognition for Purple Heart recipients is Tuesday, August 7th.
Spokane Mayor David Condon is expected to attend the event.
