COEUR D’ALENE-- For almost a month Darby Lopp has been in ICU after falling off a moving mini-van.
More than 24 hours after she was taken off life support we're told she was showing signs of improvement.
Doctors expected her to pass away two hours after she was taken off life support.
She made it through the night and was breathing on her own Friday.
We're told Darby was also able to clear her own airway Friday.
Darby's mom Susan has been by her side the entire time, Susan told us Darby was able to yawn and scowl.
70% of Darby's skull was removed due to brain swelling.
We're told there's no guarantee of a full recovery. If Darby survives, we’re told she'll be in a wheel chair and probably won’t be able to speak, see, or hear.
