SPOKANE – The Salvation Army is teaming up with health officials to provide free school supplies, hair cuts, and low cost immunizations to prepare kids for heading back to school.
The Back to School Distribution events runs from 1 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 24th and Thursday, August 25th. It takes place at the Salvation Army Community Center at 222 E. Indiana Avenue in Spokane.
The Salvation Army expects to hand out more than 2,500 backpacks filled with school supplies.
The Spokane Regional Health District will also be on hand to offer immunizations from $10 and under. Parents need to bring photo identification, proof of address and vaccination records if they plan to have their child get an immunization.
Free haircuts and Operation Family ID kids will be available for a $1 optional donation.
Supplies will be handed out on a first come, first served basis.
