SPOKANE, Wash.—The Storm Tracker 2 team will be tracking strong wind gusts Wednesday afternoon.

The strong winds bring an elevated fire concern across the state.

A cold front will move into the region later in the day Wednesday. The cold front will bring breezy conditions to the Cascade Valleys and western Columbia basin.

The wind gusts could reach 30 to 40 miles-per-hour throughout the day.

Smoke and haze will linger over parts of the Inland Northwest, especially to the north.

Residents of in northeast Washington and North Idaho should keep an eye out for haze along the border. The Missoula, Montana area could also see haze from the wildfires in their area.

Air quality levels will remain at “good” for two-thirds of the Inland Northwest.

Highs will remain in the 80’s for the rest of the week.
