SPOKANE-- Wash. ---The National Weather Service in Spokane is calling this the second wettest water year ever!
Yesterday’s 0.38 inches puts the total at 23.02 inches.
That is still second to 1948’s 25.28 inches this time that year.
NWS-Spokane told KREM 2 this isn’t a seasonal thing, but how the weather patterns were different this year.
“It sounds simple, but it’s not,” said an official at NWS-Spokane. They said weather systems that normally head north into Canada instead hit the Inland Northwest.
The water year runs from October to September.
