They are calling the competition "Mo Madness." It is a knockoff to March Madness that features all 16 inventions battling it out in a single elimination showdown.

Solar Roadways is the dream of Sandpoint's Scott and Julie Brusaw. Their goal is to one day replace much of the world's pavement with energy generating solar panels. Solar Roadways beat out its competitor in the first round. Now, they have advanced to the next round.

Voting opens at 5:00 p.m. Thursday on Twitter and runs until Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

"Well we've looked at all the other inventions. They're all wonderful. They're really great, but ours will save the world," said Solar Roadways Inventor Scott Brusaw.

KREM 2 sat down with the Brusaws and we will have an in-depth story about what they are up to in their quest to save the planet. The story will air April 26 at 6:00 p.m.
