SPOKANE, Wash. – Thursday marks opening day of the Spokane Indians 2017 season!
Otto Klein, the Senior Vice President for the Spokane Indians, said the crew is ready for a strong season and has lots of activities planned for fans.
It is obvious that the Spokane Indians are a loved team here in the Inland Northwest, but what makes Indians fans so special?
Klein said the atmosphere at Indians’ games is special, largely because of the great fans that continue to support the team year after year.
“We’ll average 5,100 fans per game, which is third in the nation for our level of baseball. So, we’re really proud of that,” said Klein.
Klein said the Inland Northwest has rallied around the team, which has developed a strong culture at games. The focus on families is also a beloved tradition.
This year, the Spokane Indians have several theme nights planned which are aimed at encouraging the whole family, including those furry friends, to come out to the ball park. There will be three “Bark in the Park” events, a Star Wars weekend and a Disney princess night.
“We’d love to bring a Northwest League title back to Spokane that’s for sure, but we just want to have a good time,” said Klein.
