SPOKANE, Wash. – Wrigley Field in Chicago is hosting its first World Series game since 1945 and a former Spokane Indians pitcher is getting the nod to take the mound.
Kyle Hendricks will be on the mound as the Chicago Cubs take on the Cleveland Indians in game 3 of the World Series. The series is tied 1-1.
Hendricks pitched for the Spokane Indians back in 2011 and recorded 36 strikeouts over 32 innings pitched. He had a 2-2 record with a 1.93 earned run average, or ERA.
The Spokane Indians Facebook page made a post Friday wishing him well. It had been shared more than 40 times since posting.
The first pitch of game 3 is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
