SPOKANE, Wash --- Two people were injured in a motorcycle vs. SUV crash near Nevada Street and East Broad Avenuen Wednesday evening.
Just before 7 p.m., Spokane Police and the Spokane Fire Department responded to the scene. Officers located the two riders from the motorcycle pinned underneath the SUV, which had struck them.
The fire department was able to use an air bag system to lift the SUV from the male and female riders, according to the police report.
Both motorcyclists were transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV was unhurt, remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, said police.
SPD wants to remind all drivers to watch for pedestrians, motorcycles and bicyclists on or near the roadway. And with the warmer weather SPD said the improved driving conditions will increase traffic congestion in the area, and drivers need to be aware of the increased traffic on the roadways.
