SPOKANE, Wash.—Here’s a reminder for Washington drivers: You have until April 15 to remove studded tires from your vehicles.

The Washington State Department of Transportation officials extended the deadline to remove studded tires to April 15, 2018.

Starting April 16, drivers with studded tires on their vehicles face a $136 traffic infraction, according to WSDOT.

WSDOT authorities said state law allows the Washington State Department of Transportation to extend the deadline into April if current or predicted conditions could make for difficult travel.

Removal services can be crowded as the deadline approaches, so WSDOT officials said drivers should plan accordingly.

The deadlines was last extended in 2012.

A previous version of this story stated the deadline to get studded tires removed was March 31. It has since then been extended.
