SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Police officers are investigating after a single gunshot was fired at the second floor of PJ’s Pub on North Monroe Street early Sunday morning.
The gunshot went into the second floor window after a conflict inside the bar sometime after midnight that was likely related, SPD officials said.
The manager of PJ’s Pub, Kaylyn Culver, said it had been a busy night after the concert. She said there was an argument between two groups and she separated them, before asking one group to leave.
One of the men involved went outside and fired his gun at the building from the middle of the street, Culver said.
“It was really scary,” Culver recalled. “I went into mom mode and made sure everyone was okay.”
She said there was glass all over from the gunshot on the second floor.
Culver explained there were many new customers that night due to the concert, and even a couple with a baby inside the pub.
Before police were called, SPD said there was a man who ran inside and reported he had been shot but did not stay on scene to speak to officers.
Officers said they are investigating, but have a person of interest and vehicle of interest associated with the gun shot. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509)456-2233 and reference report #2017-20224871.
“It could have been a lot worse,” Culver said.
