Feeling a little buzzed, recently? Well, that could be because more Americans are drinking a cup of coffee than ever before.
In a new study from Reuters, 64% of Americans are drinking at least one cup of coffee per day. This is a pretty big jump from the highest percentage previously in 2012.
However, despite the growth in coffee lovers, people are still opting for their home brewed cup rather than buying coffee out. 73% of Americans say they make their daily cup (probably in the mornings) at home, leaving the remaining 36% to spend their coffee money elsewhere. Speaking of money, if your purse feels a little lighter, that's also because the average American spends about $1,100 a year on coffee. Better enjoy those espressos.
