POST FALLS, Idaho --- The body found in the Hayden Creek area on Tuesday, was identified as the missing Post Falls man, William “Bo” Kirk.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said this is now a homicide investigation. So far, they have gotten more than 300 tips about this case.

The manner of death has not been released at this time. An autopsy is being done on Wednesday and investigators hope to gather more clues to help them figure out who was involved in Kirk’s death.

“We need to take this one step at a time, and that is the scene. Today’s weather is destroying our scene,” said Sheriff Ben Wolfinger of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

The Post Falls Police Department said Kirk’s bank cards were used at US Bank at 8:34 p.m. and Bank CDA at 8:46 p.m.

A second surveillance video was released on Wednesday afternoon from US bank that shows a second person in the truck. Investigators would like to talk to the driver of the red car who was behind the suspects at the ATM drive through.

Investigators would also like to talk to anyone who was hunting in the Hayden Creek Lake area or has game cameras in that area.

“A lot of these questions cannot be answered, we are not trying to hide anything. Our number one goal is to solve this case,” said Chief R. Scot Haug of the Post Falls Police Department.

The pick-up truck was later found, fully engulfed in flames, in the area of Rimrock Road on the north end of Kootenai County. Kirk was not found at the scene.

KCSO said there is a lot of misinformation going on right now. There was a rumor that three people were taken into custody, which they said was not true.

"We are going to find who's responsible, that is our promise to you," Wolfinger said.

Officials said contributions for the Kirk Family can be made at any Spokane Teachers Credit Union (STCU) an account has been set up under the name "Kirk Family Benefit Fund" and 100 percent of the fund will go to the Kirk family.
