SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police have found a 66-year-old man who went missing Wednesday morning.

Wallace Marsh was last seen on East Montgomery Avenue at 11:45 a.m. Police said he was located on the South Hill around 3:00 p.m. and has been taken home.

Laura Lei Wittell said she was pulled over at 4th and Freya Wednesday afternoon because she had popped a tire on a pothole. She said she saw a man walking who looked confused and had dropped his hat.

"I asked him if he was lost and he seemed like he didn't know how to answer that question but he did tell me that he was trying to go back up the hill," said Wittle.

She helped him gather his items and he kept walking. Wittell said she felt like he looked familiar, called Crime Check and gave them a description of the man. Police later called her back and told her that she helped find Marsh.

Wittell actually works with elderly people for a living, so she immediately recognized the odd behavior and knew how to get Marsh home safely.

Officials said due to age related cognitive impairment and medical conditions, he was considered to be vulnerable and in danger.
