MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after they said a woman shot her boyfriend during an argument.
Deputies said they got a call around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from Tammie Kent, 47, who said she shot her boyfriend at their home on North Fairchild in Medical Lake. When they arrived, they found Andrew Camden, 28, who had been shot in the leg.
Court documents said Kent told police officers there had been an ongoing history of domestic violence between them and she felt Camden was going to assault her while they were in their home. Kent went on to say at that point she armed herself with a firearm and attempted to fire a warning shot but struck Camden in the leg.
Authorities said Kent has been detained and is cooperating with investigators. As of Tuesday afternoon, she had not been arrested or charged.
Camden was taken to a local hospital for a gunshot wound.
