SPOKANE, Wash. -- Vandals reportedly broke into the Salish School of Spokane Thursday night are wrote racist graffiti against Native Americans on walls and a whiteboard.

The graffiti reads, “f*** Indians, f*** you and Indians suck.” Salish School officials said Spokane Police responded and are investigating the incident. The Salish School of Spokane is a non-profit Native American immersion school. Their mission is to preserve and revitalize Salish, the first language of Spokane.

School leaders are asking for the community to come together Saturday afternoon in response to the act of vandalism. They said they will perform a cleansing ceremony, paint over the damage and gather in a circle of support to restore positive energy to the school.

The school will host the event on the law outside the ECEAP Center building at 4125 N Maple at 3:00 p.m.
