SPOKANE, Wash. – United Airlines will begin flying direct from Spokane to Chicago O’Hare and San Francisco International Airports Thursday.
The first flight to San Francisco left at 6:00 a.m. The next one takes off at 1:30 p.m. The first flight to Chicago O’Hare leaves at 1:45 p.m. The new flights will be available year round
To commemorate the new flights, Airport officials said at 1:30 p.m. the Spokane International Airport’s Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Department will position their equipment on both sides of the plane and form a water arch for the aircraft to taxi under. This is also known as a water cannon salute.
