SPOKANE, Wash.—Snow or not, Spokane residents will need to start parking their cars on the odd side of the streets Wednesday.

City officials said this was in preparation for the winter-like weather that’s on its way.

Workers with the city said having cars moved to the side of the road makes it easier for plows to access essential areas.

The city warned about one change coming this year. Plows will be clearing out residential neighborhoods and streets after one to two inches on snowfall.

City officials said there would be more workers out clearing the streets around the clock to keep the streets safe.

City leaders reminded residents that once it snows, sidewalks will need to cleared with a 36 inch path by 9:00 a.m.

More information on snow removal can be found on the city's website.
